Smells

One thing that I have been noticing lately is all the different smells that come into my life. The smell of cooking is always good when the food is good. Other smells such as honeysuckle flowers make my day. Other smells however are not as good as others.

The smell of road tar has gotten my attention lately. They are repaving our road and the smell is horrible. I also have not enjoyed the smell of the mosquito spray they are using in our neighborhood. I guess I’ll just have to live with it for now but I’ll be glad when it’s done.

The cost of gas

One thing that is always on every Americans mind is the price of gas. It seems that the price is always going up and there is no way of stopping it. The problem is that the average American cannot live on a daily basis without it and we are forced to buy gas at whatever the price is.

I believe that there are many factors involved when it comes to gas prices. I also believe that the government can do more to keep them lower. If the government would make conditions good for the gas companies, then they would feel better about lowering the price. I hope things are better in the future.

Mild winter

One thing that is unusual in our area is that it is such a mild winter. The weather has been a little cold at times, but overall it has been warm. This has allowed me and my wife to work in the garden and to fix up our home when we have some free time. It has been a very nice change from the years before.

We are interested in how our house looks from the curb. We want to sell someday and the look of your house from the street can play a huge part in selling it. We fixed our mailbox as well as our window boxes. We are looking good and I know it will be a great summer.

Getting your name known

The company I work for is an up and coming company. We have worked hard to get our name noticed by mainstream people. It is a difficult task to do this and we are always thinking of new ways to get our companies name into the publics mind. Lately, we have tried to put on a number of shows at various trade shows. This has worked well so far and we are trying to get even better at the practice.

We have a stand where we present our products. Our logo is displayed but we thought we could do a better job of making it really snap. That’s why we decided to invest in trade show flooring. It helps to define who we are. It is also pretty good looking. We even have logo mats to go with our floor. It is all pretty impressive if you ask me.

Another thing we have had good success with is our logo canopy. It helps draw people in who might be some distance away. There is nothing like having your name in the air where everyone can see it. We are doing much better now that we are getting our name noticed. This should be a good business practice that others can follow. I hope you are paying attention.

Super bowl

Today is the day that many people have been waiting for. The NFL Super bowl is coming today at 6.30. The game will be played and either the New York Giants or the New England Patriots will be crowned as Super bowl champions. It will be an exciting day.

We plan to have a little party of our own as we watch the game. We have some food for the event as well as some family and friends coming over to watch the game. I am sure we will have a great time.

The evening meal

One question that my wife always asks me when we talk on the phone is what I want for dinner. I guess this is an age old question that has always had to be answered. My usual response is that I really don’t care. But it always seems that she picks the wrong thing.

My wife decided on Chinese the other night. While I do like Chinese food, I just wasn’t in the mood for it. I guess I shouldn’t complain though as I had my chance to pick what it was I wanted. This is a case of live and learn.

Bonnie and Clyde

Nearly every American knows the story of bonnie and Clyde. The two were famous for their robberies and their ability to elude the law enforcement officers who were after them. Their run finally came to an end but they left behind some things to remember them by.

These things in particular were a .45 caliber Thompson submachine gun and an 1897 12-guage Winchester shotgun. The guns were seized after the pair shot two officers and continued their escape efforts. The guns recently sold at auction for a whopping $210,000 dollars. I guess their legacy lives on.

Jaguars

The country of Bolivia is blessed to have such a wide diversion of plants and animals. One of their most famous is the jaguars who live in the rainforests. New technologies have been developed to study the animals and to help humans learn about their habitats.

This information will be invaluable to those who want to ensure that these wonderful animals are allowed to remain in the wild with a steady population. I hope the Bolivian people will keep protecting these animals and their habitats.

Patent this

I was happy when I heard that our president finally signed in a new law that will help our countries economy. The new law will help speed up the process it takes to approve new patents. There is currently a large backlog of about 700,000 patents waiting to be approved.

The new law is sponsored by democrat Patrick Leahy and republican Lamar Smith. I am glad that they are finally able to agree on something and start working together. The law will enable people to have their new ideas be approved quickly and will help the economy grow.

Fix a flat

I recently used a product named fix a flat. While it worked great on my 1995 ford Taurus, it did not work at all on my 2002 ford ranger. I have mixed feelings about the product and the job it does. While it can come in handy, I need to know that it will work.

The product costs around $10.00 dollars and can be found at any car supply store. I bought some as I wanted to use it for safety, as I did not want to have to change a flat on the highway. I still have a can of it in my car, but I don’t know if it will work or not when I need it.
