The people of Chile are recovering from a magnitude 8.8 earthquake that shook their country in the early morning hours. The quake was one of the worst ever recorded. The shaking lasted for more than a minute and terrified the local residents. Homes, Buildings, and Bridges were destroyed as the earth trembled and shook.

The giant quakes destruction is not over yet. The quake set off a tsunami that is expected to travel as far as Hawaii at a peak of 8 feet. Over 50 other nations have received tsunami warnings. In all, the destruction is wide spread and has already taken over one hundred lives. I will pray that these unfortunate people will be able to recover from this devastation.

There are many terrible crimes in this country and one of the worst ones in my opinion is arson. This type of crime is terribly destructive and dangerous to people. In Tyler Texas, eight churches have been burned over the last month and there are signs that the burnings are not over. This has the population worried and I don’t blame them.

Authorities have beefed up security around the churches, but there is no way that can protect them all. Some citizens are taking matters into their own hands and spending the night at their local church. I sincerely hope that whoever is responsible for this is caught and given the maximum sentence possible.

His name was Larry Stewart and he gave away thousands of dollars each year until his death in 2007. The good news is that someone else has stepped forward to take his place. While we still don’t know who this person is, it’s good to know that people like him are out there. I salute his generous acts of charity and goodwill towards other men!

In America, there is only one world War veteran left. His name is Frank Buckles and he is 108 years old. You would think that America would appreciate the efforts that he and thousands of others made, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Frank says that the memorial to World War 1 vets is a dilapidated mess. He thinks that we can do better. I agree with everything he says.

The good news is that there is a bill in congress to address some of the issues he has raised. Some hope that the memorial can be improved and be something that all Americans can enjoy. I certainly hope that this will be the case. Good luck Frank!!

I was talking with my mom the other day and she told me some interesting news. She is retired and now lives in Florida. She told me about a lady named Beth who lives three doors down from her. It seems that Beth had become dependent on a drug called vicodin. When the situation was discovered, her doctors recommended that the best course of action was to undergo vicodin rehab. That way, she could end her dangerous addiction.

The whole situation seemed to start out innocent enough. She had taken some of the pills to help ease the symptoms of her condition. After her prescriptions had run out, it was found out that she had continued to buy the drug from an online vendor. This led to a downward spiral that had affected her in many ways. It turns out that she had started to spend large amounts of money on the pills. It’s no wonder that she was encouraged to visit one of the vicodin rehab centers.

The bad part is that this is all too common. This type of thing can happen to anybody. It may be surprising to find out that someone you know may have a problem like this. I surely believe that if this description fits someone you know you should find out more information on the subject. In today’s world, we all have to look out for one another. I hope you will be the Good Samaritan and do the right thing.

I just wanted to pay my respects to Senator Edward M. Kennedy who died on Thursday. The Senator from the most famous American political family is gone and we will all miss him. The Senator has played an important role in the politics of the senate and has helped to shape our policies in America as well as abroad.

My sympathies go out to the Kennedy family who surly miss him the most. I hope that everyone will agree that he gave his life in service to his country and should be commended for his efforts. I’ll certainly be interested in paying my final respects to this American legend.

There are many strong feelings involved when a long time beloved player leaves for another team. Such is the case of the Green Bay Packer’s fans and Brett Favre, their former quarterback. Earlier this week, Brett signed with the Minnesota Vikings who are the arch rivals of Green Bay. The situation was made worse when fans heard a statement that Brett made.

“If you’re a true Packer fan, you understand” Brett said about his signing. This statement seemed to infuriate thousands of true-blue Packers fans and they let their voices be heard. Despite all the problems in Green bay, I don’t feel bad for the Packers fans. After all, I’m a Redskins fan!

Today I was possessed by the idea that my fence needed pressure washing. Since I had some time to kill, I thought I would get to it! I went to the garage and got out my pressure washer and started to hook it up. I hadn’t used it in awhile and was surprised to find that the nozzle was rusted. Nevertheless, I hooked it up away I went.

I started with the street side and got through the first part easily. I moved around to the back and keep on getting it! My hand was a little tired after awhile, but I kept on as I was determined to finish. It took a couple of hours, but I finally finished! The fence looks great! All the hard work was worth it and even my wife was happy with the result!
