Reading a history magazine I noticed that little boys back in the days of the Civil War were dressed in shorts with a shirt and suspenders until they approached their teen years. It was considered a privilege to wear long pants. I just thought that was odd, as most guys I know look forward to wearing shorts. Times do change.

The news of the death of Osama Bin Laden has caused much jubilation around the world. I find it a little strange that there was a crowd of about 100 people shown celebrating in front of the White House within minutes of President Obama’s announcement. Where did all those people come from? How did they get there so quickly? Where did they get all those flags they were waving? After all, the announcement come late on Sunday night and the White House is not in a residential area. I find the whole thing very suspicious.

My sister just finished a two week ordeal with her in-laws visiting their home in Austin. She always has her hands full when they come to visit and all I can say is, before you agree to marry someone, make sure you can deal with that person’s parents or your life will be much harder in the long run.
My sister and her husband both work and have spent many long hours renovating their home after they moved there in 2002. They bought a small, older house that needed major repairs and they enjoyed working on it together. Four years ago I went out there to help them do some rewiring of the electrical systems and was very impressed with the work they’ve done and their ambitious remodeling plans.
The main complaint my sister has about the lengthy visits is that they always bring their two miniature poodles with them. The mother-in-law claims they are like her babies and she takes them everywhere she goes. I don’t think those dogs have ever seen the inside of a kennel. But the little darling manage to pee on the carpet and the furniture when they visit, and that drives my poor sister completely mad.
Now that the in-laws are on their way home, she has had to use the professional cleaning services of http://www.thesteamteam.com/austin-cleaning-services/upholstery.shtml to thoroughly clean her antique sofa and other upholstered furniture that the dogs peed on during their visit.
You can’t just wipe off furniture that has been peed on repeatedly. You need a professional to handle stain and odor removal Austin and have any chance of your carpets and furniture being odor-free.

The first of May is a benchmark for me. May is the start of really nice weather for the beach, there is always a light breeze and a lot of sunny days. Everything is blooming and green.
It seems that every weekend in May has some kind of festival or group activity that I like to attend, especially the Memorial Day Weekend, which is the unofficial start of summer.
