U.S. authorities just announced that they were able to find and shut down a drug tunnel. The tunnel ran from Tijuana Mexico to a warehouse in San Diego. The tunnel was equipped with a ventilation system as well as lighting and a rail system to transport the drugs. The tunnel was found after an investigation of an earlier drug bust.
These tunnels are known to be run and operated by Mexican drug cartels. I hope that finding them and shutting them down will help eliminate the drug problem in the U.S. I hail the authorities for doing a great job in the tough war against these drug sellers and hope we can stamp them out for good.

The weather is definitely getting colder as the winter nears. I have noticed a chill in the especially in the morning. One thing we did this past week was to check out everyone’s wardrobe to see what kind of winter clothing was needed. I went through my closet and noticed that my old coat was really worn. It used to be my favorite, but I knew it was time to let it go.
As usual, I turned to the internet. I went to one of my favorite sites called zappos.com. It was there that I found a Men’s Diez Jacket that I really liked. Since I was on the site anyway, I thought I would look around some more to see what else I could find. One thing that I noticed was a Greenland Jacket that I knew my daughter would love. I decided to order them and I was about to when I had another thought.
I thought that my wife might like to have something as well. I knew it wouldn’t go well not to buy her one of the North Face Jackets that were on the site. It only took a few minutes and I knew I had found something for everyone. I am glad that when winter really sets in, we will all be prepared to face it as we will be wearing nice brand new jackets.

Life can be a funny thing. One thing that tickles me is when I have to teach someone who is computer illiterate how to use the keyboard. This recently happened to me when a friend of mine tried to write a letter on my computer. Needless to say, it took quite awhile to complete the task.
The secret to teaching someone how to use the computer is to have plenty of patience. I stuck by her and we got the job done. I just hope I don’t have to go through this again anytime soon!

One thing about the holidays is that the kitchen will become the central place where everyone hangs out. After all, that’s where the food is made. We were happy to have everyone over this year in part because we had just redone our kitchen. Not only did we repaint and lay a new floor, we added some other items to our kitchen as well.
One item we added was a stainless steel kitchen sink. It has worked out so well for us and we really like it. It is very deep and that makes it easy to wash the bigger pots and pans. Another item we added to our kitchen was the butcher block countertop. That gives us a place to prepare the food we are cooking. These two items look very nice and our kitchen looks so much better than before.
We also didn’t neglect the rest of the house. When company comes over this year, I am sure that we will all be arguing over who gets to sit in the adirondack chair that we purchased. I will have to put my foot down and insist that I will get to sit in the chair and everyone else will have to find somewhere else to rest their weary bones! I love being the king of the castle!

The Labor Department announced today that the number of people who filed for unemployment dropped sharply this week. This has led many economists to believe that the economy is still improving and that people are becoming more confident about the future. Job seekers are happy to hear the news as well.
The economy is growing and expanding, just not as fast as economist would like. I think the economy is getting better and I hope it continues to improve. I am lucky to have the good job that I do and I hope others will become as lucky as I.
