One thing I was noticing the other day was that everyone seems to have a particular thing to wear at work. For me, I must wear a suit and tie on most days, but sometimes I can be more casual. I was recently at a hospital and noticed that there were many different uniforms there. The doctors had there own uniforms and the nurses had theirs as well. Many of the doctors and nurses had different head gear on. It sparked a conversation between me and a nurse who worked there.

She told me that every doctor and nurse was responsible for buying their uniforms. Since everyone is always trying to save money, many of them looked for where to buy cheap scrubs. It was an interesting conversation and left me wondering about how wearing uniforms got started. There are uniforms for police and firefighters as well as many other trades. I guess that showing the world where you work and what you do gives people an instant impression of who you are. I wish I had a uniform that was a bit more interesting than a suit and tie.
