I was fortunate to be on the receiving end of a very good deed today. I was at a local store and had ordered a small meal for lunch. I didn’t realize that I had forgotten to bring any money. When it came time to pay, I was short. I found some change in my car but was still a dollar short on the bill. That’s when a friendly stranger offered a dollar to make the payment.

I am glad that there are many good people in the world who still remember kindness. I hope that man gets his dollar back ten times over. I’m sure he will. I intend to take a lesson from this and I hope everyone else will too!

We must always remember that no matter how much animals are a part of our lives, they are still animals. This seems to be the case today after a killer whale at SeaWorld killed an animal trainer. 40 year old Dawn Brancheau was pronounced dead after being fatally mauled by a killer whale that thrashed her under the water.

Unfortunately, this is not the first incident at SeaWorld. Other trainers have been attacked by the whales in the past and have been bitten or held under water. There have been at least two other known fatalities at other zoos or parks.

I do a lot of traveling in the course of my job. Most times I fly to where I’m going, but sometimes it’s much easier to drive. While I don’t mind too much, there are occasions when it can be a hassle. I really like my car as it’s a Toyota Corolla. Usually it’s very reliable and I feel good about going anywhere. But the last time I drove out of town I had a problem.

According to Murphy’s Law, whatever can go wrong will? Unfortunately for me, I know Murphy very well. As I was driving down the road my car started to overheat. I wasn’t too worried at first as I thought I would stop and put some water in. I drove a little further and it happened again. I finally realized that my water pump had gone bad. I knew I would have to stop and have it repaired.

It was fortunate that I was not out in the middle of nowhere. I was able to find a shop very quickly that could do the job. I looked on my laptop and found that there are many choices for Chicago auto repair. I had my car fixed in no time and was back on the road. It all worked out in the end and I got to where I was going. I hope I have better luck the next time I go driving!!

Congratulations to David Benke for being a hero. The math teacher from Littleton, Colorado protected his students from harm when the chips were down. A man in the parking lot starting shooting a rifle at students and David knew he had to stop him. He tackled the man and pinned him down until police arrived.

The shooters name is Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood who has an extensive record. He is being held on a one million dollar bond while awaiting his trial for attempted first-degree murder. I’m glad to hear that Mr. Benke had the guts to risk his own life in order to save others.
