One thing that does worry me is the national debt. It seems that we are spending a lot of money and paying a lot of interest on it. I am sure that this cannot continue this kind of money management and that we will pay a price for our borrowing. I am glad that President Barack Obama has said that he will make reducing the debt a priority over the coming year.
I was looking on a site called the debt counter and it said that each individual share of the debt is $177,600. That’s a lot of money per person and it’s hard to see how we can pay that off. It would be nice if we could at least try to reduce this amount so that we can ensure our children will have some kind of chance at a good life!

It seems that President Barack Obama is serious on repealing the ban on gays in the military. Top brass at the pentagon are investigating ways to make the initiative possible and plan to implement it during the coming years. There is still a lot of debate on the subject and nothing is settled yet, but it does look like things are moving in that direction. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see the results.

As a Virginian, I am proud to announce that we have a winner! Caressa Cameron has won the title of Miss America from a field of 53 other contestants. She was able to put on a great performance singing during the talent portion of the event and stood out as a beautiful person. She will now have the opportunity to tour the U.S. as the reigning crown holder. I say congratulations to miss Cameron and I hope she enjoys her time as a pageant winner!
