One thing that I am really proud of is my family’s musical heritage. My grandfather was in a band as well as my father. I played in my high schools marching band and I hoped that my son would carry on the tradition. He has shown signs of wanting to play this year and so we started to look at some of the Musical Instruments he could play in the band. It was fun looking at all the different instruments that he may learn to master.

My son is about to enter the 6th grade. The band instructor invited all the kids to explore the possibilities of music. My son is trying to decide whether Trumpets are the instrument that he should take up. His friend plays the trumpet and they could have fun learning together. There are other options open to him as well.

When I was in school, I played one of the Trombones in the marching band. I have many fond memories of being with my friends and marching on the field. I am definitely glad to know that my son wants to carry on the musical tradition that runs in my family. I hope he will have as much fun as I did and make a lot of new friends.
