I was reading about this year’s apple crop and was encouraged and discouraged at the same time. It seems that apple growers who are based mainly in New York and Pennsylvania are in a dilemma. The prices for apples have dropped dramatically this year and have forced apple growers to make an economic decision. Pick the best apples off the tree and leave the dropped apples on the ground.

Apples that drop on the ground can still be worth money. They canned be turned into juice or slices. The problem is that with this year’s crop so abundant, the apples are hardly worth picking. While I am glad that growers can still make a profit, it seems a shame that these apples go to waste!
