I was reading about this year’s apple crop and was encouraged and discouraged at the same time. It seems that apple growers who are based mainly in New York and Pennsylvania are in a dilemma. The prices for apples have dropped dramatically this year and have forced apple growers to make an economic decision. Pick the best apples off the tree and leave the dropped apples on the ground.
Apples that drop on the ground can still be worth money. They canned be turned into juice or slices. The problem is that with this year’s crop so abundant, the apples are hardly worth picking. While I am glad that growers can still make a profit, it seems a shame that these apples go to waste!

Since I have a lot of friends where I work, I am always the first to know about something different. My friend Greg was raving about the new Direct TV service he had and told us all about it. It seems that Greg was dissatisfied with his cable programming and wanted to switch his service provider. He found out about DirectTV and called to find out more information. He was glad he did.
One problem that Greg had encountered was that his children wanted more choices of shows to watch. He found that switching to Directv; he was able to receive many more channels than before. The shows also came in HD which was important to him. The rates also competitive with everybody else and he actually saved a few dollars.
Greg is also known around the office for being a big sports fan. Once he switched over, he was able to watch virtually every sports game that was played. They have many package deals that allow for sports fanatics to get their fix. Greg has been the envy of everyone around the office for the past few weeks; he is playing the role beautifully and couldn’t be prouder. He has many other people reconsidering their own TV choices. I may even take a fresh look at my own!

Its unbelievable how many people are out there shopping today? I had to go out and pick up some necessities, and was almost a half-hour getting through the check out line. I guess all the hype on the TV was true, because I saw it all first hand. It seems that every cart I saw was full to the brim with items that were on sale. I think the economy took a turn for the better today! Next year, I’ll be sure to stock up ahead of time in order to avoid the crowds!
