I dropped my son off at the bus stop this morning on my way to work. The morning passed quickly and the day was very normal. I got a call from my son’s school asking me where my son was. He’s at school said I. No he’s not said they! Well, when I arrived home I found my son in his bedroom. He was acting like nothing had happened and he didn’t know I knew he had skipped school.
I asked him how his day went and he replied that everything was fine. I asked him again and he replied the same. That’s when I busted him out! After awhile, he admitted to me that he had spent the day at a friend’s house playing video games. I remember when I was a youngster and that I had done the same, but I also remember getting in a lot of trouble too.
I grounded the boy for two weeks and gave him the customary speech. He will have to serve detention at school in addition to the punishment I gave. I hope it was all worth it! I love my boy and I really hope that he will straighten up as he gets older. I’m sure he will and was just testing the lines that are drawn. Wee shall see as time goes by, until then, I’ll keep a closer eye on the boy!
