I’m Dillon Vanderburg. I was born in Munich, Germany and am 53 years old. I was placed in several different orphanages by my mother in Germany and Switzerland until we came to America when I was 12 years old. I have an older half sister that still lives in Germany and two younger half sisters that live in California.
Then there’s my foster family. I know where I would have ended up had it not been for them. Probably in prison or dead because I thought no one cared about me at all. No one seemed to until I was placed with them. I now have 2 younger sisters and a younger brother in my foster family. The youngest girl was adopted by them and that’s how they learned about me, through Social Services and the adoption process but we’ll talk about that a little later.
