Like I told you, I have a half older sister in Germany and two younger half sisters in California.  They are my blood family but my family is not only about blood.  I also have a foster family.  They taught me what family and love really was.

Family is loving someone just for who they are and not because the same blood flows through their veins as yours.  Love is a four letter word and like other four letter words, it can hurt or heal.  It can cause joy or break your heart.  It also comes in many different shapes, sizes and intensities.  I didn’t know there were so many different types of love until my foster family showed them to me.

No matter what I did, they still loved and wanted me to be a part of their family.  Trust me, I did a lot in the beginning just to see if they would send me back but I was told, and I quote “I might bust your rear end but the day you walked through our door, you became my son just as if I had given birth to you so your not going anywhere but to your room”.  I still remember those words to this day and cherish them more than any other words I have ever heard.
