Well I got the floor finished in 8 hours instead of 6 and it looks great. They were extremely pleased with the whole job. In fact, they were so pleased that I have been invited to their house for a New Years party and they told me to make sure to bring lots of business cards.
They are going to make sure to show everyone their new floors and let everyone know that I was the one that put it in for them. That way, it just might drum up some more business for me. That would be great. One thing I can always use is more business. I’m surprised at how much I have had this month anyway with Christmas and all. Cross your fingers that I get some more jobs from this. Pretty cheap advertising too.

My neighbor came over and asked me if I would install a new floor in his bedroom. He got his wife new hardwood floors for their bedroom since she suddenly developed allergies. She wanted a new floor for Christmas and that’s what he got.
So now I have to install them for her. They will have everything out in the morning and then I’ll go to work. It shouldn’t take me but about 6 hours to get it completely done especially since I bought myself a new saw for Christmas. Boy and I glad I got that now. This job will pay for the saw too.
That’s the good thing about doing home improvement like I do. A good job will pay for a good piece of equipment I need and then the next job will be easier to do and go faster too. They are also talking about redoing their bathroom so I might get that job too. Not too bad when you consider I won’t even have any travel expense with it being right next door.

Maybe it’s me but it sure has taken a long time to get to Christmas Eve. This has been the longest month this year to me. I guess maybe I have been looking so forward to this day that it slowed time for me. You know how kids are this time of year. Well I have been like that too for some reason.
It’s not like I’ll be around any family or anything because I won’t get the chance to see any of them. Maybe that’s why it seems to have creeped along. I don’t know but it’s finally here and I want to take the time to wish you and your families a wonderful Christmas and hope yours is full of family, love and good food. Sure the presents are nice but family, love and good food are the most important parts of it. That and that you know it’s not about the presents. It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ. God bless you everyone.

Well since I have no family close by, I bought myself a Christmas Present. I needed a new piece of equipment and that’s what I got for myself. What I needed was a better miter saw that has the vacuum attachment so if I’m working inside someones house, I don’t throw saw dust everywhere. It sure makes it easier when cleanup comes.
Check it out. I got it at Lowes.

Just as I thought, I got the job completed in three days. Man was it more of a pain than I first thought it would be too. See this is an older house and there have been rooms or sections added on through out the years. When you go under the house, there are brick foundations everywhere from each new addition. I ran into walls every way I turned.
I had to break holes in some of the foundation walls under the house in order to run the sewer pipe for the new toilet. I had to break holes for the new water lines and there isn’t much room on that end of the house under it either. It was not that easy of a job but it turned out great. The homeowners were tickled with it and that’s all that matters in the end. Well that and you make a profit from the job too. No I didn’t make a small fortune by any means but it was a good job. How do you like the shelves?
